When you're having a bad or stressful day, a compelling story can turn your day around, science fiction and fantasy spark your imagination mysteries give you problems to solve and clues to unravel, while romances lift your sprits and remind you how beautiful life can be if fiction isn't your favorite, non-fiction can be equally uplifting.

Books on history and philosophy expand your perspective travel books open your eyes to a world of possibility, and self-improvement books help you organize your life and conquer your goals whatever mood you're in whatever stressors are on your mind, there's a book out there that can change yoir day for the better.

2. SINGLE TASKING

Do you have a dozen items on your to do list? Are you scrambling to get things done? When your day feels busy and choatic, you make the same mistake as countless other people you start multitasking, thinking your productivity is going to double or triple but instead of making yourself more productive, you're creating extra stress and diminshing the quality of your work.

If you want to have a better more productive day it's time to stop multitasking this bad habit overwhelms your brain splits your attention and decreases your performance in other words when you multitask your brain in a mess and your productivity pays the price.

3. MATUAL JOY 

Did you know that you can improve your day by improving someone else's? For example give a random person an honest compliment and see what happens their cheeks might turn red they might smile or laugh either way their happiness will make you heart soar it feels great to bring joy into someone else's life so be a beacon of positivity brighten someone else's life and you just might brighten your own.

4. MEDIA DETOX

What do you do when you're feeling overwhelmed? Many people use social media to escape from daily stressors but instead of relieving your stress social media amplifies your stress in ways you don't realize for examples social media encourages you to compare your life with the lives of others creating feelings of envy and dissatisfaction don't run to social media when you're stressed or overwhelmed.

Instead use that time to detox from the digital world turn the TV put away your phone challenge your self to simply exist without any screen to keep your company it may be difficult at first but you may discover an hour away from you devices can turn a bad into a great one.

5. REDISCOVER PURPOSE

Why do you get up in the morning? What makes your work worth doing? If you want to improve your day spend a few minutes remembering what you life is all about make a short list of your motivators and passions remind yourself that you're working hard for a good reason if you can find a sense of purpose in your day that purpose will inspire you for hours to come.

6. MAKE YOURSELF LAUGH

Laugh is a powerful thing a good laugh brings people together it relieves and improves your mood so, if you want to have a better day the answer is simple make yourself laugh go see a comedy show joke around with your freinds or watch a funny video on you tube a good laugh can unravelan entire days worth of attention and stress so, no matter how bussy you get make time for laugher your life will be a whole lot happier.

7. TALK A WALK

improving your day can be as easy as talking a stroll a brie walk outdoors can improve your mood attitude and productivity by changing your environment and stepping away from your work you're given yourself a unique opportunity to think breath and reflect on your day in just 5 minutes a walk though nature can turn boredom into inspiration laziness into inspiration and frustration into gratitude.

You don't need to drastically change your life to find happiness or cultivate your passions all you need to do is changing your perspective give yourself a chance to see the world in a slightly different way when you're feeling down enter a new environment feel the sun shinning on your skin and the breeze blowing though your hair becouse a walk though nature gives you the change in perspective you're looking for.

8. COOK A MEAL

How often do you cook for yourself? Food is something many people take for granred read-made meals and order takeout they forget how rewarding cooking a meal can be cooking is not healthier than eating out but it also allows you to intract with your food in a different way when you touch chop and cook each ingredient you're investing care into your food, and that care makes each meal tastier and more rewarding you might not be a great cook or even a good cook but it's time to start practicing because making a meal for yourself should be a ritual you look forward to every day.

9. POSITIVE PEOPLE

Sometimes it's difficult to lift your own spirits when you're feeling down you may wallow in your negativity in moment like these an optimistic energetic friend can make all the different talking to someone who is happy, mindful, and possionate inspires you to be a better person and have a better day.

That's why it's important to sorround yourself with uplifting friends and partners people who brighten your life around evert time you talk these people not only bring happier thoughts and healthier habits into your life but they teach you to be a more positive person.

10. FIND YOUR STYLE 

How much time should you spend choosing clothes or styling your hair? Many people claim they don't care about how they look they dress down and rarely invest time into their appearance but the truth is everyone wants to look good not for other people but for themselves each day you should look in the mirror and think " I look good today".

seeing your reflection and liking what you see gives you a burst of confidence and improves your mood so, spend a few minutes on your appearance you may think it's vain or superficial but there's nothing wrong with liking the way you look.

11. APPRECIATE LIFE

How often do you appreciate the life you live? You may live a demanding life every day you have dozens of things to do and not enough times to do them your mind is always occupied by unfinished business personal projects and future goals but it's important to slow down at least once per day and appreciate the simple pleasures of being alive thing about the advantages and luxuries you have instead of always wishing for more.

Appreciate your friends, your family, and your pets all the people and animals that make your life better remind yourself that you're lucky to be alive healthy, and happy and that life no matter hiw busy it seems is full of possibility it's a small change and it only takes a few minutes of your time but simply appreciating life can make you happier person.

12. MAKE A PLAN

When you're having a bad day you life may feel chaotic or out of control but there's an easy way to regain control and turn your day around find a sheet of paper and write out a plan for the rest of your day organize your tasks map out of yoir schedule set time frames and priorities that way you can see your entire day in one place not only will this healthy habit keep your organized but you'll discover something amazing your schedule is much more manageable you think.

13. A GLASS OF WATER 

Sometimes a glass of water can change yoir entire day they blame their sleep, their workload,or their busy schedules but the real broblem is they are not drinking enough water your body needs between 11 and 15 cups of water every day especially if you're active or spend time outdoors whenever you're feeling down unmotivated or starved of energy drink a glass of water refuel your system hydrare your body because that one glass of water may give you the burst of energy you need.

14. TINY TASKS

Working on one large task can eat away at your motivation after a while you start to feel beat down and uninspired you start taking shortcuts and dragging your feet so how do you reinvigorate your work ethic during a slow down? instead of grinding away for hours find a tiny task to change your state of mind.

It could be a chore an errand or a small personal project whatever it's use these tiny tasks to break up big blocks of work whenever you're feeling lazy switch your attention to something completely different knock that tiny task out of the way then come back to your work feeling fresher and more motivated.

15. MAKE YOUR BED

Making your bed is one of the easiest to have a better day every morning when you tuck in your sheets and align your pillows, you're checking a box on your to do list which builds critical momentum fir the rest of your day it's like doing a workout reading book or any other healthy habit making your bed gives a sense of accomplishment and that feeling nudges day in a positive direction so, spend a few minutes making your bed start your morning on a high note and rest of your day will follow.
